Chief Operating Officer

Mike SteigerwaldMike is a software manager for a major window and door manufacturer where he focuses on design software for architects. His wife, Linda, is a dog trainer. At last count, they had five pets (one dog, two cats, and two ferrets). The only other things that seem to pry Mike away from a computer are Michigan sports and social activism.

Mike graduated from Michigan in 1982 with a BS (Engineering) and in 1983 with an MSE (Applied Mechanics). He joined the board in 2000 and was asked to be the host of the football watching parties before he knew what hit him. When he confessed to being a computer geek and an amateur economist, asking him to be Chief Information Officer and Chief Financial Officer was an easy call.

Wendy RigterinkWendy moved to Minneapolis in fall 2004 and is part of Aveda's Environmental Sustainability group.  By consulting with internal groups, she helps identify their primary environmental impact and possible actions they can take, that would further decrease their environmental footprint.  Sound business practices are the backbone of these projects.  Having grown up in Ann Arbor (a proud River Rat), Wendy returns to catch UM football games and spend time with family.  Wendy's pretty happy whenever she's outside, with friends, and/or moving around as part of a football, broomball, softball, kickball team...and she loves trying new things.

Wendy graduated from University of Michigan in May 2004 from the Corporate Environmental Management Program (CEMP); a joint degree program which entails an MBA from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and a Masters of Science from the School of Natural Resources and Environment.  She joined the board in the spring of 2005 and serves as a liaison between the UM Alumni Board and the Ivyplus Board.
