If you would like to become a member of the Alumni Assocation go to the website at www.umalumni.com. Questions, etc. may be sent to me at loisharris@aol.com with "Dragons tickets" on subject line. (Without that, I will not open an email from an unfamiliar address.) Be aware, the game this year is the same weekend as the Dayton Celtic Festival, so it should be a fun, but busy, downtown! - CLUB GOLF OUTING: We will have a scholarship golf outing at Pipestone Golf Club on August 2nd, at 1:30pm. If you'd like to sign up a foursome or just by yourself, please email BT Cesul (btcesul@umich.edu) or Sean Merrill (sdmerrill@yahoo.com) to reserve a spot. The cost will be $60 per person and include golf, cart, food, and prizes with proceeds going toward our club scholarship fund. - DISCOUNTS FOR MICHIGAN ALUMS AT CINCY TENNIS TOURNEY: Join other University of Michigan Alumni for this special cocktail reception prior to the best tennis in the world. Details will be sent out in July, but mark your calendars for a fun afternoon. - Group football tickets: Payment instructions will be sent out in July via email, and once paid for, the tickets will be sent out approximately 2-3 weeks before that game. Due to construction issues at Michigan Stadium, overall seating has been reduced, but NO WORRIES! We got all out tickets we requested. If you have tickets for a game that you're not going to be able to use, we'll have a posting on the website for you to list your tickets available and contact information starting in August. - Scholarship Competition: We have finally received the list of students who paid their security deposits to Michigan. Letters and application packets will be sent out to those students by the end of June. Interviews will be held in July. - Glee Club Concert: We tried and tried, but couldn't get a date that fit the calendars of the Glee Club and our concert venue. We have made arrangements for the Mens Glee Club to come to Dayton for the 2010 tour schedule and as soon as we get a date reserved, we'll let you know.
Alumni High School Recruiters The University uses local alumni to recruit high school students to UM for regions outside SE Michigan. Dayton has been a strong area for developing future Wolverines, and the Alumni High School Recruiting Program needs your help! If you can volunteer some time every school year to visit a local high school to drop off materials, be available for prosepctive students to ask questions about admissions or the U in general, and occasionally participate in a college fair if you choose, then we need you! A list of prospective high schools that do not have recruiters for next year are listed below. Dayton area high schools in need of recruiters (not all HS's listed- only those that have had applicants in the past two years and do not have a recruiter assigned already): Alter HS (Kettering) Kettering Fairmont HS Miami Valley School (Dayton) Oakwood HS Please contact BT Cesul (btcesul@umich.edu, Subject: "UM alumni recruiting") for more information and to sign up.
